The process

Client services

  1. Initial chat: We want to get to know you, understand what you’re looking for and see if our principles align.
  2. Assessment case study: An in-person overview of an insight or account plan case study, depending on the role, followed by questions with the team.
  3. Offer.

Engineering

We try to move fast, and our interview process looks loosely like this:

  1. Initial chat and technical screen: We want to get to know you, understand what you’re looking for and see if our principles align.
  2. Two technical interviews: Often back to back and preferably in person. You can choose the style. Some people like to build something together, others prefer theoretical system design, and we also allow a free-form show and tell.
  3. Offer.

Our stack

  • Frontend: React, TypeScript, Effect Atom and Storybook
  • Backend: Node.js, Effect, PostgreSQL (Prisma), Redis, Snowflake and ClickHouse
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Pulumi, Kubernetes (DigitalOcean), continuous integration and delivery, and Netlify
  • Tools: Linear, Slack and Notion

Life in engineering

What you’ll work on

We’re building a powerful enterprise web app powered by big, proprietary datasets. Some things you might tackle in your first year:

  • Scale and refine our product to serve large enterprise users
  • Contribute to customer-facing features using React, Node.js, Effect and PostgreSQL
  • Improve performance and reliability across our data-heavy frontend
  • Join user interviews and work closely with design to make thoughtful, human-focused user experience decisions
  • Take part in shaping the engineering culture, practices and mentorship
  • Explore opportunities to expand your impact into areas like infrastructure, security and hiring

What your first year might look like

  • 30 days: You’ve shipped your first changes, paired with the team and contributed to real customer impact.
  • 60 days: You’re leading initiatives, joining user interviews and making smart suggestions to improve our stack and practices.
  • 90 days: You’ve delivered major features, participated in architectural decisions and helped interview future teammates.
  • 6–12 months: You’ve owned big, business-critical projects, mentored others and become a cultural leader in the team.

What we’re looking for

We’re open-minded about your background, whether you’ve worked in startups, agencies or enterprise. What matters to us is that you:

  • Are comfortable in fast-moving, semi-structured environments
  • Care about the details, from data modelling and testing to user interface polish and user experience
  • Can empathise with customers, not just code for them
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate across disciplines
  • Have a broad sense of ownership: you ship, test, debug and iterate
